Abel Sloane and Maude Willaerts (Assistant Curator at the Victoria & Albert Museum) invite our members to look at Abel’s collection and discuss the ins and outs of the 1934 dealership.

The evening will focus on looking at his papier mâché collection. We will look at pieces from the 19th century onwards by companies such as TomoTom and Artek and designers such as Jennens & Bettridge, Hans Gunther Reinstein, Bernard Holdaway and David Bartlett, as well as associated literature, models and archives.

Maximum capacity: 7.

This visit is free and solely for members of the Early Career Development group, but attendance must be booked in advance by emailing grants@furniturehistorysociety.org.  To read more about the ECD Group, or to join the Society, please use the menu to navigate to the Grants & Early Career Development page of this website.
